Produced by Patrizio Bartoloni from Ceramica Bartoloni and exhibited at the 86th edition of MIDA Florence International Crafts Fair 23th April – 1st May 2022 .

Project promoted by Firenze Fiera in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence, Florence Architects Foundation, Giovanni Michelucci Foundation and the Department of Architecture. 

EN // "State transitions" is a collection of ceramic mirrors, result of the succession of creative inputs, chemical experimentation and design synthesis.  Develop the theme of work through the project, and within a context designed to enhance craftsmanship, immediately appeared to me as an opportunity to bring the values of the manufacturing of Montelupo Fiorentino artistic ceramics within the process creative, decision-making and design management, which typically are up to the designer.

IT // "Passaggi di stato" è una collezione di specchi in ceramica, frutto del susseguirsi di input creativi, sperimentazione chimica e sintesi progettuale. Sviluppare il tema del lavoro attraverso il progetto, e all'interno di un contesto ideato per valorizzare l'artigianato, mi è apparso subito come l'occasione per portare i valori della lavorazione della ceramica artistica di Montelupo Fiorentino all'interno del processo creativo, decisionale e gestionale della progettazione, che tipicamente spettano al designer.

EN // The project began with the consideration of how platinum enamel can make ceramic, which by its nature is opaque, extremely reflective. From here I moved on to the observation of the phenomenon of condensation on glass which, in the same way as platinum for ceramics, relates reflection and opacity.

IT // Il progetto è iniziato con la considerazione su come lo smalto platino possa rendere estremamente riflettente la ceramica, che per sua natura è opaca. Da qui sono passata all'osservazione del fenomeno della condensa su vetri che, allo stesso modo dello platino per la ceramica, mette in relazione riflessione e opacità.

EN // The study on how to render the phenomenon of condensation on ceramics passed into the hands of the ceramist Patrizio Bartoloni, who  interpreted it through a series of tests with different paints and firings.

IT // Lo studio su come rendere su ceramica il fenomeno della condensa è passato  nelle mani del ceramista Patrizio Bartoloni, che l'ha interpretato attraverso una serie di sperimentazioni con vernici e cotture diverse. 

EN // At the end of the project study "State transitions" appears with a collection of mirrors and with a new decorative technique, possibly to be used in more products.

IT // Alla fine dello studio "Passaggi di stato" si presenta con una collezione di specchi e con una nuova tecnica decorativa, eventualmente da utilizzare su altri oggetti.
